| MATTHEW DONOVAN LENNERT |
| Matthew was born in Los Angeles in 1965 and grew up in San Diego. He bought his first rangefinder camera when he was 12 with money he saved in a Band-Aid can from washing cars, cutting grass and babysitting. He was a studio manager and photo assistant throughout his 20's before turning to fine art photography. He has moved 42 times. Such is the curse of the photographer seeking fresh material that he has lived in many cities in the United States since leaving home at 17 including San Francisco, Seattle, Miami and Atlanta. He currently lives in Tucson. He has undergraduate degrees in Commuication and Social Science from the University of Washington and is currently completing his MFA in photography at The Academy of Art University. His work has been shown in group and solo gallery exhibitions across the United States and is held in private collections. He has been published in B&W (Issue 30), Silvershotz (Vol.3 Ed. 6) and in the 2003 book Answer Yourself: Night Photographs by Matthew Donovan Lennert. |
